Each time someone tags a card with a new note, an update goes out to everyone who’s interacted with it—both givers and receivers. You can opt out of updates at any time.
You can create a free online dashboard to track all the cards you’ve tagged or purchased, but it’s totally optional.

Each Circle Card is made from sturdy 30 mil PVC, the same thickness as a credit card.
With a high-end matte frosted finish that resists scratches, every card is built to last. They’re designed for durability, ready for pockets, backpacks, and all the places the journey takes them.
Just try not to leave one in the dryer. 😉
The original Circle Cards are 2.5” (63.5 mm) in diameter and fit comfortably in most standard wallets.
That said, they may not fit in ultra-slim (minimalist) wallets or phone cases designed for standard card shapes.
If you use a slim wallet, or just prefer a traditional card size, our hybrid-shaped Circle Cards are a perfect fit. They have the same maximum dimensions as a credit card (3.37” x 2.125”), they’ll slide easily into any wallet or case.
Nope, nothing to download. Everything works seamlessly in your browser and functions just like an app.

Our Journey
How it all started... and where it’s going
At a music festival in Georgia, Mark (the founder) approaches hundreds of strangers and asks for hugs. Yes, he knows this is a little weird.
But the response is so unexpectedly positive, he’s left wondering: How would hugging strangers go in the ‘real’ world? 🤔 For over six months, he works up the courage (and perhaps procrastinates a bit) to find out.
*Note: Somewhere in the middle of that hug spree, someone hands Mark a pass-it-on card with an uplifting message about being awesome. He doesn’t remember the exact words, because he passes it on, but he’ll never forget how it made him feel. That moment plants the seed for what will eventually become Circle Cards.
‘Spread the Hug’ events begin. Inspired by the card he received at the music festival, Mark creates his own non-trackable “Awesome Cards” to give to everyone who gives a hug.
Over the next nine years (minus a two-year pause for COVID), thousands of hugs and cards are given out in cities across the US—on busy streets, at parades, protests, political rallies, sports events, airport terminals, festivals, concerts, and more.
The dream of adding technology to Awesome Cards begins—to make them trackable and bring their journeys to life.
It’s about using technology to amplify human connection, not replace it!
After years of development and countless challenges, we go LIVE! The first trackable Circle Cards—formerly called Awesome Cards—are gifted at Burning Man (that thing in the desert).
A limited beta release begins. We collect feedback and fine-tune the experience for a full‑scale launch.
Around 5,000 cards are shared—mostly across the U.S., but some have already landed in more than a dozen countries, sparking meaningful moments of kindness and connection.
Circle Cards are now ready to spread across the globe.
We’re just getting started. Coming summer 2026, we’ll launch a live public feed of notes, helping each act of kindness inspire more people around the world.
Kindness doesn’t just speak English. Soon, we’ll be designing cards in other languages and translating the site.
