Each time someone tags a card with a new note, an update goes out to everyone who’s interacted with it—both givers and receivers. You can opt out of updates at any time.
You can create a free online dashboard to track all the cards you’ve tagged or purchased, but it’s totally optional.

Each Circle Card is made from sturdy 30 mil PVC, the same thickness as a credit card.
With a high-end matte frosted finish that resists scratches, every card is built to last. They’re designed for durability, ready for pockets, backpacks, and all the places the journey takes them.
Just try not to leave one in the dryer. 😉
The original Circle Cards are 2.5” (63.5 mm) in diameter and fit comfortably in most standard wallets.
That said, they may not fit in ultra-slim (minimalist) wallets or phone cases designed for standard card shapes.
If you use a slim wallet, or just prefer a traditional card size, our hybrid-shaped Circle Cards are a perfect fit. They have the same maximum dimensions as a credit card (3.37” x 2.125”), they’ll slide easily into any wallet or case.

Our Journey
Mark, the founder, decides to approach hundreds of strangers at a large music festival in Georgia and ask for hugs. Yes, he knows this is a little weird.
And the response is so positive, he’s left wondering: How would hugging strangers go in the ‘real’ world? 🤔 For over six months, he works up the courage (and perhaps procrastinates a bit) to find out.
*Note: During one moment of the hug spree, someone hands Mark a pass-it-on card with an uplifting message about being awesome. He doesn’t remember the exact words because he passes it on, but he’ll never forget how it made him feel. This plants the seed for an idea that would eventually grow into something bigger.
'Spread the Hug' events begin. Inspired by the card he received at the music festival, Mark creates his own uplifting pass-it-on 'Awesome Cards' to give to everyone who gives a hug.
For the next nine years (minus a two-year pause for COVID), thousands of hugs and non-trackable cards are given out in cities across the US—on busy streets, at parades, protests, political rallies, sports events, airport terminals, festivals, and more.
The dream of adding technology to Awesome Cards begins—making them trackable and bringing their journeys to life.
It’s about using technology to amplify human connection, not replace it!
After years of development and countless challenges, we go LIVE! The first trackable Circle Cards—formerly called ‘Awesome Cards’—are gifted at Burning Man (that thing in the desert).
Circle Cards enter a limited ‘beta’ release as we gather valuable user feedback and refine the platform for a full-scale launch.
During this time, about 4000 cards have been shared—many of them during ‘Spread the Hug’ events—and they’ve traveled to more than a dozen countries, inspiring countless stories of kindness and connection.
Circle Cards are now ready to spread across the globe.
Exciting new advancements are on the horizon to make the experience even more impactful.
